What is CPC?

"The Children's Policy Council is "a non-profit cooperative dedicated to building partnerships among all those in Jefferson County who work for the well-being of children. There is no other organization dedicated to bringing people together to learn about children's issues, to find resources and to build projects and programs through partnerships. When people work with the Children's Policy Cooperative, they learn more about other programs and available services.
The Children's Policy Council is also a Jefferson County Health Action Partner. The partnership is a coalition of over 60 agencies committed to improving community health. The Health Action Partnership led by the Jefferson County Department of Health, with strong support from United Way of Central Alabama, Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, and UAB School of Public Health pursues goals for improving health and quality of life."

Monthly Meeting

The Safety Workgroup had their monthly meeting this past Tuesday and we discussed our next steps. We are somewhat at a standstill because we need a production crew to help us with the videos, and we do not want to move forward until that becomes set in stone.
I am officially in charge of getting resources that are related to each video, so we can bring awareness not only to the project, but also where you can go to get help.
Grants are still an issue. They are hard at work trying to find grants not only for our project, but also the entire CPC. It is becoming an issue because they are drawing from the same well.
Any ideas on any of these subjects would be welcome!!
